The new year was welcomed with great fanfare and high hopes. As we do every month, we collected hundreds of thousands of measurements to check the condition of mobile Internet in Poland. Although the winter weather might have suggested a slowdown, our users had no intention of taking a break. The data we’ve gathered can be truly surprising! Check out the download speeds, upload speeds, and ping values in 5G and 4G LTE networks in January 2025.

In January, RFBENCHMARK app users conducted 497,397 measurements across the country. Of these, 159,920 were related to 5G, while 330,544 concerned 4G LTE. These data form the basis of our latest report and allow us to take a detailed look at how each operator is performing in the new year.
In January, most measurements in the RFBENCHMARK app were performed on the Orange network, which accounted for 32.7% of all tests. Play came in second with 32%, followed by Plus with 18.6%, and T-Mobile in fourth place with 16.7% share.
Mobile Internet in Poland – what was the situation in December 2024?
In December 2024, T-Mobile improved its results, achieving the highest 5G speeds in both download (421.5 Mb/s) and upload (63 Mb/s). Orange, with 378.6 Mb/s and 58.7 Mb/s, maintained a strong second position, while Play (222.5 Mb/s, 53.1 Mb/s) still lagged noticeably behind the leaders. Plus (129.6 Mb/s, 28.1 Mb/s) finished last in both categories, recording a slight decline compared to previous months.
When it comes to latency (ping), Orange dominated in December with the lowest figure (19.7 ms). Play (23.1 ms) and T-Mobile (23.5 ms) were close behind the leader. Plus (26.5 ms) again finished last, though not by a large margin.

How did we collect data for the ranking?
The measurements are collected from users using our mobile application. It allows us to measure the basic parameters of the mobile network – including the level and quality of the signal depending on the technology in which the mobile device works, information about the mobile network operator or the country where the smartphone is located. In addition, on-demand Internet speed measurements are taken during downloads and uploads, as well as a latency test.
When the application notes a low-quality voice call, lack of mobile Internet service or other service, it has the ability to report the user’s current position where the service problem occurred.
