Mobile Internet in Poland – a great summary of 2024

How did mobile operators perform in 2024? We check who offered the fastest and most stable internet in Poland!

The year 2024 brought dynamic development in mobile services across Poland. The growing popularity of 5G networks, rising user demands, and ongoing infrastructure investments made the competition for market leadership exceptionally fierce. Which operator delivered the fastest internet? Where could we count on the lowest ping and the best connection quality?

We have prepared a detailed report showing how Orange, Play, T-Mobile, and Plus performed in key categories. Check out who set the standards for mobile internet in Poland in 2024!

Number of Measurements

In 2023, we collected 5,399,017 measurement data points, which were used to create twelve monthly rankings. The highest number of tests was conducted in January (568,102), while the lowest number was in August (341,333).

Growing Popularity of 5G in Poland in 2024

In 2024, there was a noticeable increase in the use of 5G technology, which accounted for 22.54% of all measurements. By comparison, in 2023, 5G technology had a 13.49% share.

At the same time, 4G LTE remained the most popular technology for mobile internet users participating in the study. Tests conducted in the 4G LTE standard made up almost 75.92% of all collected data.

In 2024, the availability of smartphones supporting 5G technology increased significantly compared to 2023, driven by growing market adoption and a broader range of devices from mobile phone manufacturers. Nevertheless, 5G services in many cases remain limited to higher-priced plans in operators’ offers, both in Poland and internationally. This technology is most commonly available in more expensive tariff plans, covering both subscription and prepaid offers, which may slow its widespread adoption among end users.

According to the annual report by RFBENCHMARK, Orange remains the most frequently chosen operator among app users, accounting for 32.7% of all measurements. Play ranks second with 32.3%, followed by Plus and T-Mobile, with 17.8% and 18.2% shares in the study, respectively.

How did we collect data for the ranking?

The measurements are collected from users using our mobile application. It allows us to measure the basic parameters of the mobile network – including the level and quality of the signal depending on the technology in which the mobile device works, information about the mobile network operator or the country where the smartphone is located. In addition, on-demand Internet speed measurements are taken during downloads and uploads, as well as a latency test.

When the application notes a low-quality voice call, lack of mobile Internet service or other service, it has the ability to report the user’s current position where the service problem occurred.
