RFBENCHMARK measurement methodology – where does our data come from?

Our June report was created based on the analysis of 277,389 measurements performed by users themselves using the RFBENCHMARK mobile application. The so-called crowdsourcing allows us to assess service quality in real-world conditions rather than in sterile laboratories.

User activity across individual networks was as follows:

  • Orange: 34.5%
  • Play: 30%
  • Plus: 18.3%
  • T-Mobile: 17.2%

Measurements are conducted under everyday usage conditions (crowdsourcing), which reflects the actual experiences of mobile network customers in Poland, eliminating laboratory tests. The analysis focuses exclusively on the latest technologies: 5G and 4G LTE.

The structure of May measurements by technology is as follows:

  • 4G LTE technology: 55.58% of all measurements

  • 5G technology: 44.04%

  • Older technologies (including 3G): 0.38%

4G LTE Alternative: In the older LTE technology, T-Mobile also emerged as the annual download leader, while Play maintained the best annual upload performance. To summarize: in terms of pure transfer speed, T-Mobile dominates in Poland, while in terms of lowest ping – Orange takes the top spot.

5G Speed Leader (Download & Upload): T-Mobile is the annual performance winner in the next-generation standard. Over the full year, the operator achieved the highest average download speed of 399.3 Mbps and an upload speed of 61.1 Mbps.

Leader in Stability and Responsiveness (Ping): Orange remains the top choice for users seeking the lowest latency. In the annual 5G summary, Orange took first place with a record average ping of 19.9 ms.

2. Who offers the fastest 5G in Poland?

According to measurements in May 2026, T-Mobile offers the fastest 5G in Poland. The average data download speed on this operator’s 5G network reaches up to 434.9 Mbps. Second place goes to Orange with a result of 363.0 Mbps.

3. Which mobile operator has the lowest Ping?

The lowest ping (lowest network latency) in May 2026 was recorded by Orange. In 5G technology, its average ping reaches a record 23.2 ms, and in 4G LTE – 29.4 ms.

4. What is crowdsource research in internet testing?

Crowdsource (crowdsourced) research is a method of collecting data directly from real mobile app users testing the network on their smartphones during daily phone use. Unlike laboratory tests or drive tests, crowdsourcing reflects actual signal quality, speed, and latency where people truly live, work, and travel. All RFBENCHMARK reports are based on this model.
